If you’re an online course creator, you’re no stranger to the challenge that is generating consistent sales.
You’ve been there and you totally know what it’s like to fall flat on sales, despite your decent-sized audience.
And as competitive a scene as the world of online business may be, the key to reaching new people and generating new sales is to generate top notch, fresh, eye-catching content through Facebook Advertising.
Yes, you heard that right. I said that Facebook Ads could be the key to all your conversion problems.
With more than one billion active users per month and a platform built for promotions, FB Ads are the cream of the crop when it comes to generating consistent sales for your course.
So if you’re ready to start making some serious moolah, you’ll want to take a look at these 3 types of Facebook ads that every entrepreneur needs:
-
List Building Ads
Unless you already have an existing platform or audience, the first type of ad campaign you should create is a list building campaign.
These types of ads are specifically designed to build up your audience, so you can target the people who are most interested in your content.
The goal of this campaign is not to generate sales, but to first build awareness within your audience. After all, they can’t buy from you if they don’t know you exist!
You can build awareness by offering free content, like downloadable calendars, blogs, podcast episodes, and more.
If you’re stuck for ideas, just check out this awesome example of a List Building Ad I created for Chrissy Powers. Here she offers an ‘Ultimate Content Calendar’ to her audience. This is an amazing way to not only draw attention to your ideal audience but to also increase traffic to your site.

Hot Tip* — this type of ad gives you the capability to target your newly discovered leads in other types of campaigns in the future.
2. Engagement Ads
Having people see your Facebook Ads will help you grow awareness and fill your sales funnel, but having people *actually* engage with your ad is a whole other story.
The truth is that people who engage with your ads are far more likely to actually buy your product or service.
I know, getting people to engage is easier said than done!
So let’s take a look at an example of an amazing engagement ad — this one is by Rachel Brenke.
The copy is urgent
Creating a sense of urgency to solve a REAL problem your audience is facing NOW is a really fast way to get people to engage.
The copy is relevant
Not only is the copy here urgent, but it’s also relevant to people within the demographic of business owners she wants to attract.
The tone is conversational
Engagement posts are meant to do just that, so don’t be afraid to be casual and conversational with your audience. Chat with them just as you would with a friend while sitting down for Starbucks.
It’s Visually Eye Catching
The image used for this ad matches the content written perfectly. The woman screaming implies a sense of urgency, the colors in the photo pop and compliment one another, and the whole thing is clean and minimal enough not to draw away from what the ad is saying.
3. Registration Ads.
Alright, alright. At this point, you’ve built your audience with list building ads, and you’ve built a sense of familiarity and trust using engagement ads. Now, it’s finally time to reel them in… with you guessed it, registration ads!
Just take a look at my very own registration ad for the Sustainable Growth Academy below:
You can see that I’ve already built my audience of awesome entrepreneurs, business owners, and course creators (like yourself!).
Now it’s time to offer up what I have to really change the game for you… my academy!
That’s why in this ad I pose the question and ask:
Do you want to learn the secret to a sustainable business?
(Which is the whole reason behind why I built my business — to share this secret with business owners like yourself!)
And I am giving out rewards like…
-
An early bird offer to those who are ready to get a head start in the Sustainable Growth Academy NOW
